Geneseo Police Department
Accreditation
On June 2, 2016, the Geneseo Police Department was accredited by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. Chief Eric Osganian, Sergeant Dana Carson and Officer Christopher Matteson traveled to Albany to receive the award.
On June 3, 2021, the Geneseo Police Department was re-accredited by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. Chief Eric Osganian, Officer Christopher Matteson and Officer Gary Miller received the award.
Accreditation is a progressive and contemporary way of helping police agencies evaluate and improve their overall performance. It provides formal recognition that an organization meets or exceeds general expectations of quality in the field. Accreditation acknowledges the implementation of policies that are conceptually sound and operationally effective.
