The Geneseo Police Department provides law enforcement services to the Village of Geneseo, which has approximately 8,114 residents. The Village of Geneseo also encompasses the SUNY Geneseo College. We are very proud of our commitment to the community and the partnerships we have formed along the way, realizing that safety and quality of life are both personal and shared responsibilities.
The police department is comprised of seven full-time officers, including a police chief and a sergeant.
The police department handles approximately 8,500 complaints throughout the year. We also offer several community programs such as: child safety seat installation, a property check program, a kid id kit program, a bicycle safety program, and a speed awareness program.
